8th Grade Parents - Deadline this Friday

Hello 8th Grade Parents & Guardians,

We still need your help to make the 8th grade Recognition Ceremony special for every child. If you have not done so yet, please make sure to:

1) Send a photo in of your 8th grader from the age of 5 or 6 (starting out school).  If you can email it, please send to:  PatriceKaye@live.com. If you have a hard copy photo, please send it in an envelope and ask your child to hand it in at the office, or to his or her advisory teacher to forward on (hard copy photos will be returned).  Please make sure to label the email/photo with your child’s name!

2) Send in $15 to help offset expenses for the event.  Checks can be made out to LHCS PTA.  Send it with your child in an envelope marked “8th grade recognition” to hand in at the office or to his or her advisory teacher.

We need to have these things by May 2nd or sooner if possible, to stay on track for planning.  It’s going to be a great event for our 8th graders, and we appreciate your help!

High School Registration

Following is a flyer of MPS high school registration events.  If you have an 8th grader attending an MPS school next fall, they will need to be registered for classes.  These events are for students to finalize their course selections.  Please attend the event for the high school you will attend.  Answers to frequently asked questions about scheduling can be found on the Academic tab of the High School websites as well as course descriptions. Prior to this meeting, students are encouraged to talk with parents/guardians and current teachers about appropriate course choices for the following school year with remaining questions.  <link flyer>

April 24 Washburn High School:

• 5:00   Students with last names A-G
• 6:00   Students with last names H-M
• 7:00   Students with last names  N-Z

April 29: Roosevelt
