We would like families to review our Upper Campus Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up procedures. Students should be dropped off on the East side of Washburn, meaning cars need to be driving north on Washburn.  If you are driving south to get to school, turn on 48^th street so you can drop off students at the corner of 49th and Washburn on the side of the school. Students should not cross in the middle of Washburn to get to school. We ask that you follow these safety reminders from the National Center for Safe Routes to School:

• Don't double park; it blocks visibility for other children and vehicles
• Don't load or unload children across the street from the school
• Don’t cross in the middle of the street, rather always cross at intersections or designated crosswalks

From the Lake Harriet Student Handbook:

During bus times, drop offs and pickups are not allowed on Vincent Ave (in front of the school). Please drop off and pick up your child on the Washburn Avenue side of the school at Door #7.  The 49^th Street parking lot is not a student drop-off unless the parent has handicap plates.  Students crossing Washburn to get to cars parked on the west side of the street need to cross at 49^th. This is a dangerous situation due to traffic.
