Hey parents, the magic number is 6! Your UC students learned last week that simply reading 6 books over the summer may offset the dreaded "summer slide" and help them retain the vocabulary, spelling, and reading skills they worked so hard to learn this year.

Please look for a worksheet to come home the last week of school and support your student in trying to reach this goal of reading 6 books over the summer. Remember, public libraries and local bookstores are great resources and air-conditioned places to visit!
