MATHCOUNTS is an inclusive math enrichment program for 6th - 8th graders who like math. The primary goal is to give kids a chance to work together to tackle challenging math problems in a fun, low-pressure environment. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series. 5 LHCS students are moving on to the state competition this year! Sessions are held once a week before school from October through March.

We need YOUR involvement to keep the program strong! Some parent volunteers are leaving as their children move on to high school; can you help fill their shoes? We need coaches who enjoy math and problem-solving. You don't need to be a mathematician or a teacher; MATHCOUNTS provides the materials and students provide the brainpower. We also need volunteers to simply assist and mentor teams. We welcome ALL who are interested!

Parent of a 5th grader next year? We're considering adding 5th grade and holding two separate sessions (one easier, one more advanced). This would require additional coaches. If your child might be interested, please step forward!

We're excited to continue the MATHCOUNTS program and are looking forward to next year. Please consider donating your time and talents!
