Dear 4^th and 5^th grade student and your family:

Welcome to the 2013-14 school year!  We are excited for you to come and we look forward to seeing all of you.  The teachers are ready to challenge you and we are all here to help you to have a great school year.

At the bottom of this letter, you will see your teacher and classroom listed.   When you come to school this year you will notice some new things at Lake Harriet Upper. We have new lockers, we have teachers teaching different grade levels and we have a new principal too. His name is Mr. Walter Schleisman. 

Be sure to plan on coming to the Grades Four & Five Curriculum Night/Ice Cream Social on Tuesday August 20^th.  This is your chance to sign up for conferences in your child’s classroom.  Instructions for the night are as follows:  4^th graders should go to your assigned classroom from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. for a curriculum information session and a chance to meet your teacher, then from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. 4^th graders go to the playground for ice cream and to meet other students.  Our 5^th graders should start outside on the playground meeting others and having ice cream, then from 6:30-7:30 p.m. 5^th graders go to your assigned classroom for a curriculum information session and a chance to meet your teacher.

We want you to know that our school is very full and we do have a waiting list.  We have tried to place as many of our neighborhood students as possible. If you are not attending Lake Harriet Upper this year, please let us know immediately so we can move students off the waiting list.
