Join your neighbors to celebrate and improve our natural urban environment! Participants of all ages are welcome on Earth Day, Saturday April 20 8:30-noon for the Southwest Community Earth Day Clean Up. We will meet at Southwest High School for refreshments, to see presentations on environmental topics, and get ready to get cleaning. At 9:00, groups will set out on foot, bike or school bus to sites including picking up litter at Lake Harriet, pulling invasive plants in William Berry Woods and cleaning up Merwyn Triangle Park. Participants are welcome to enjoy a free picnic-style lunch and each other’s company at 11:30. Gloves, trash grabbers and bags provided. Wear clothes you can get dirty if you plan to go to the Woods.
