YOU ARE INVITED TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS!We are thrilled to announce plans for installation of permanent lights for our athletic field at Southwest High School. The realization of this long-term goal has been made possible by Harvey Feldman, Class of 1961, who has offered to match, dollar-for-dollar, any funds raised up to $300,000!   The first phase of this project will include the lights and also renaming Southwest Stadium after two of Southwest’s legendary coaches, Art Fredrickson & Dave Peterson.  We also have long-range goals that include an upgraded ticket/concession booth, improved entrance, new scoreboard, artificial turf, and much more.

Please join us March 16th, for a GalaEvent at Atlas Grill, to “Turn on the Lights.”  At this grand event you will have the opportunity to meet current Southwest Coaches, Athletes, Fredrickson and Peterson Family Members, The Lighting Committee, and hear all of the exciting details.

FYI: What does the neighborhood think? 

The Turn on the Lights project was presented to the Fulton Neighborhood Association in December.  Concerns were raised regarding parking, waste, security and bike racks.   A desire was also expressed for neighborhood use of the track.  The Project will need City approval.  Formal notification will be given to homes within the affected area.  We are committed to addressing the needs of the neighborhood.
