FREE BIKE TRAINING      June 9 & 10

The demand for skilled bicycle staff and volunteers for bike education and adventure is growing in MPS! It has been a continual dream of MPS SRTS to have more MPS people trained as LCI’s (League Cycling Instructors). There is only ONE staff LCI in MPS—and his contributions to bicycling and bicycle safety instruction in MPS have been invaluable! What’s a League Cycling Instructor?

There is a pre-requisite to the three day LCI training—Traffic Skills 101. MPS SRTS will offer this course right after the school year ends. This class is appropriate for those who already lead or support youth bike programs and education or for those who may want to help out just a bit or even lead  a program someday. Those who already lead

Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Curriculum.

The new Walk! Bike! Fun! curriculum is written to encourage more children to walk or bike to school and throughout the community by providing schools with tools to teach safe walking and biking. This curriculum is designed for physical education, health teachers and other educators to use to engage students in a thoughtful, fun and interactive program to learn safety tips and skills that will last them a lifetime.
