Digging for Knowledge

“Digging for Knowledge” has become our theme for this year at Lower Campus.  We had a great ground breaking ceremony and now school has begun so we are digging outside and digging for knowledge in the classrooms as well.  This is an exciting year.

The pilings are going in.  We hear the pounding every other day.  They have been working outside of my office for the past few days and the noise is not as bad as I thought it would be.

There are a few changes to our routines.

1.    Parent pick up has moved to the corner of Drew and 40th by the kickball field.  We don’t have the space for parents and parking at the current location.

2.    The main entrance is on Drew and the main office is118. across from room 110.

3.    The health office is room 119 on the main hallway.

4.    The principal office is the same, room 120, except you enter off the main hallway

5.    The social worker is in a back office in the media.

6.    Art and music are going into the classrooms to deliver their curriculum.

I would like to get to know the Lower Campus parent, answer your concerns, and gather your input.  I have an open door policy; and respond to e-mail and phone calls within 24 hours.  This year I will be adding another way to communicate with you.  Every six weeks I will be available in the lunch room at 9:45 to 10:45 or 3:00-4:00 to chat about whatever is on your mind about school.  Sometimes I will have some information to share.  I will alternate the chat time so that one session would be in the morning and the next time it will in be in the afternoon.  Our first chat time will be on September 13 at 9:45.  Please put that on your calendar.

Thank you for choosing to send your child to our school and trusting that we have the best interest of your child in our planning. We appreciate your trust and partnership.
