Many of you have reached out to the PTA this year looking for ways to help other schools in our city. This week our MPS teachers and students are preparing to return to in person learning. We took this opportunity to reach out to the staff at Nellie Stone Johnson Community School to ask what items they need as they go back into their classrooms.
As some of you may be aware our PTA has raised money at the DragonFest carnival to provide funds for the end of year picnic/carnival at NSJ. We are fortunate to have a relationship with the teachers and staff there thanks in large part to LHCS parents Jason and Leita Walker. They have volunteered at NSJ for several years and have invited other Lake Harriet parents to do the same. We are also connected to the school through several of our LHCS parents who work in the building.
We have put together a list of items requested by the teachers and staff at Nellie Stone Johnson. You can access that list using the link below (please sort/filter the list by priority to see the items they need most):
This list is a work in progress and we will continue to add items as teachers send us their needs.
Thank you for supporting teachers and students across our city.
