Hi! My name is Sarah O’Malia, and I am the new art teacher at LHU. I have taught art to elementary and middle school students in Los Angeles and around the Twin Cities. I was most recently teaching art at a middle school in Shakopee, but I’m so excited to be here at LHU now. My art education career has been interspersed with experience working as a textile designer. I really enjoy applying my textile design background in the classroom and exposing students to alternative art career options. I firmly believe that participating in art-making and art-viewing helps students develop empathy, and I love being part of that development!
