In May 2007, the Minneapolis Public Schools, including its Board of Education, began a strategic planning process (plan) to address some of our District's biggest and most complex issues.

Based on the information collected, the team identified the major issues the district needed to address, and developed options for potential solutions.

The framework of the 2007-12 strategic plan was grouped into three broad categories:

Increase equity, expectations and achievement

Focus resources

Strengthen relationships

Strategic Planning Continues:  Imagine MPS in 2020

Minneapolis Public Schools is continuing to identify priorities and strategies to improve student achievement and make sure all MPS students are college and career ready.  The areas we identify will be articulated in the 2014-2020 Strategic Plan.
