Southwest Robotics is forming new FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics teams for middle schoolers and we’re looking for participants! FTC is the successor to FIRST Lego League for students in middle school or above. No experience is necessary; students with a variety of interests are needed. This is a fun opportunity to work together and develop engineering, design, technical writing, coding, marketing and outreach skills.

Sessions are led by adult mentors with assistance from Southwest’s two strong robotics teams: the Rubies (2017 FTC World Championships participants) and Ultraviolet (2017 FRC regional alliance captains). Optional introductory sessions are planned this summer with the regular season kicking off in September. We’re holding an informational meeting on Wednesday, May 31st at 7PM in the Southwest High School first floor garage/flex space (3414 West 47th St) for 6th - 8th graders and families.

Email with questions or see https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/ftc/what-is-first-tech-challenge for more information about FTC. See you then!
