School Psychology Awareness Week was Nov. 11-15. This year’s theme is “We Are All In! Teams Work!” and the focus is on helping students and colleagues recognize, employ and enhance team-related skills. School psychologists help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally. They collaborate with educators, parents and other professionals to create safe, healthy and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school and the community for all students. Every school in Minneapolis is assigned a school psychologist. Julie Hirsch is the School Psychologist assigned to Lake Harriet School. You may contact Julie by calling 668-3318 or email her at julie.hirsch@mpls.k12.mn.us. She works at both campuses and is available on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
