The Upper Campus needs parent support for a safety issue

Please hold your children from coming to school early or select to stand on the playground.

Many children like to come to school early to meet and play with friends on the playground before school. This ranges from 8:15 to 9:15 and the challenge is this;  staff are not on duty on the playground at that time and the Minneapolis Kids staff only supervise the children enrolled in that program.  Children are playing tackle football which is not appropriate on a hard surface playground. Some children are bullying others. All in all, this is not a safe situation.  I would like to request parents hold their children from coming early or select to stand on the playground and monitor their child’s safety. I would appreciate if your child is engaged in coming early to play on the playground that you would discuss these issues with him/her.

Sincerely,

Mary Rynchek
