Unified Sports is a program that is part of Special Olympics. It pairs students with and without disabilities on the same team for various competitions. LHCS has a team of 6-8th graders training for a bowling event on November 8, 2017 where we will compete against other Unified middle school teams. We will also compete in track and field events in the spring and we might do basketball this winter. This is a great way to promote inclusion, friendship and respect at our school and we are so excited to be a part of this program!
We also want to give a shout out to the summer program of MPLS Kids that collected money this summer to donate to Special Olympics. Their generous donation to our Unified team is very much appreciated. Thank you MPLS Kids!!
