We are excited to announce that May 5-9 is the first MPS Wellness Week! Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) cares about the health and wellness of our students, families and staff. Schools are invited to participate in a different, fun and active event each day. Included is a brief description of the week’s events and ways that your family can be active at home!
Monday, May 5: Biking Challenge
Today kicked off Wellness Week and launched a summer biking challenge for staff.
Family Wellness: Explore your neighborhood – take some time and go for a bike ride or on a walk with your family.
Tuesday, May 6: Recess for All
At 10 a.m. today, all MPS students and staff are invited to be active together with a movement activity.

Wednesday, May 7: National Bike and Walk to School or Work Day
MPS encourages students and staff to bike or walk to school today. Last fall, approximately 28 schools and 5,800 students participated in National Bike to School Day. Today is also the annual MPS Developmentally Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) Bike Day event.

Double Dutch is back! MPS is hosting a middle-school double Dutch tournament from 5-7 p.m. at Washburn High School.
