Dear Lake Harriet Parents,

We sent home information 11/3/15 about the CogAt7 test which is the exam that your child is eligible to take to identify them as being an advanced learner in Minneapolis Public Schools.

Things you need to know about the CogAt7:

1.   All 2nd graders in MPS are screened every year.

2.   There is an optional three hour full battery test for Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd graders given to students by parent or teacher request only.

3.   Results arrive in late March.

4.   No special or separate program as a result of this designation, it is just an indicator that helps teachers differentiate the learning for your child.

5.   Only Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd graders will be tested that have a returned a signed form by the deadline date of Thursday, November 12th (no exceptions).

6.   The testing window is November 30th – December 11th.

Sincerely,

Merry Tilleson, Principal

&

Sue Shuff, First Grade Teacher/Talent Development Coordinator
