From the Desk of the Principal

I am excited to be the Principal of Lake Harriet Lower! This is going to be an adventurous school year. I am committed to building a strong sense of belonging within our school community for all students. This year requires kindness, creativity, trust, and ingenuity. I am confident that "Together we will THRIVE!"

About me: I attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Campus and received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters of Education in Secondary English Education. I love to read! I then after 13 years of teaching reading, writing and literature, I earned my principal license through Hamline University. I also attended the National Institute of School Leadership program through the University of Minnesota, where I completed an action research study on the benefits of extended learning time when paired with additional professional learning time for teachers. I love to learn! I am from a family of educators. My grandma inspired me to be a teacher when I was 9 years old and visited her 3rd grade classroom. Since then, I have been committed to growing new learners.
