LH Student named Secretary of Citywide Student Government

Some middle graders in the our Student Council have the opportunity to be in a Citywide Student government organization.  They have meetings throughout the year.  At the last meeting they named next year's Citywide Student Government officers.
 
Lake Harriet student Robbie G. was named as Secretary.
 
Read the letter below from the student government coordinators with glowing comments about the student participation and responsibility shown at their latest meeting.

We had a wonderful CityWide meeting yesterday at the Central Library with outstanding candidates for each officer position for the Executive Board.  They carried themselves with poise during their speeches and provided thoughtful responses during the question phase. We received a wonderful comment from a staff member.  They said that we were the first group ever that was respectful enough to clean up after themselves.  We take great pride in hearing those comments after our meetings!

There first duty of office is on Tuesday, May 28.  They will take part in a formal installation ceremony followed by being recognized at the school board meeting.  Further details can be found in the attached letters that each student was given.
