Kids ages 5-10 (youth) and 11-14 (teen) will have a blast while learning about urban agriculture and sustainability in these classes taught by staff members of Spark-Y. Each sustainability workshop will include icebreakers, “energy” games, interactive learning, creativity and art, and a hands-on project. Sign your child up for one or all six classes on subjects like Aquaponics, Vermicomposting & Soil, Mushrooms, Algae & Light Investigation. Classes are $8 each on Saturday's in May (May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31) and June 7th at Bachman's on Lyndale. Classes are 1 hour long from 10am - 11am. Spark-Y is a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering Minneapolis area youth with knowledge, job preparation, and life success skills through hands-on sustainable education. These classes will help prepare your youth for sustainability, using waste a resource, and the future.
