Fall Girls Basketball Clinic

I wanted to let our past SW Girls Basketball Summer Camp attendees know that the SW Girls Basketball program is working with the Timberwolves/Lynx organization on putting together a 2 to 3 hour girls basketball clinic at SW or Lake Harriet on a Saturday in late October or early November. Nothing is definite yet, but please give me an idea if your daughter might be interested. We will probably have it open for 1st through 8th grade girls.

MPLS Lakers Traveling Basketball

Also, the MPLS Lakers Traveling Basketball Association is holding tryouts on September 23 and 24 at MCTC. This is for the upcoming winter basketball season. Details can be found on the website mplslakers.org. Also, see the attached flyer.

AAU Basketball

Finally, some people have asked me about AAU basketball, which runs in the spring and into the summer. This is a fun way to really bring skills to another level. There are many good AAU clubs, but I'm associated with the MN Suns, and am aware that they are holding tryouts on September 10, with a make-up date on Sept 11. Here's the details:

Minnesota Suns AAU Girls Basketball Tryouts for 2017 Club Season (Girls only)
$20 tryout fee. Cash only. Payable at the door

Saturday September 10th at Robbinsdale Cooper High School, New Hope MN (drive around back to the Community Center Gyms)
7th and 8th graders tryout at 9:00 am - 10:30 am
3rd - 6th grade 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
9th - 11th grade 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Makeup date will be Sunday September 11th at Robbinsdale Cooper High School (drive around back to the Community Center Gyms)
3rd graders through 7th graders tryout 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
