On Friday, August 26, Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) kicked off the start of the 2016-17 school year with and AWESOME and hope-filled "State of the Schools" event. This event included students, teachers, staff and members of the community as well as Superintendent Ed Graff's vision of an educational environment focused on students, invested in teachers/staff and engaged with the community and an encouraging message from Mayor Hodges.

We recommend watching! We think you'll be impressed. Watch here. If you have limited time:
Superintendent Graff's vision: 20:30-51:20
Superintendent Graff at the piano ;) with Prince music. (We also recognized some Lake Harriet Students!) at 51:20 - 58:02
Hodges' remarks: 6:30
More choir: 15:30
Also, we encourage you to meet your new Superintendent.
Join us one of these community events to hear what he has in store for this school year.
