Each year, MPS screens students to identify Advanced Learners. All 2nd grade students are screened automatically while K, 1, 3 and 4 grade students may be referred for screening by a teacher, or parent/guardian.
The screening process will include the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT7), an assessment of reasoning and problem-solving skills. In addition, your child’s Fall FAST results is part of the assessment.
