Does your 6th to 8th grader like math puzzles and brain-teasers? Are they interested in learning how to solve challenging math problems? If so, consider joining MATHCOUNTS, the free before-school math club for students in grades 6-8. The main purpose of the club is to promote and extend students interest in math and to have fun at the same time. Students work together in teams and introduce some new or different topics that go beyond what they see in school. MATHCOUNTS will start on Wednesday, October 2nd and will meet every Wednesday for one hour 8:25 AM to 9:25 AM until mid-March. MathCounts will meet in room 207. To learn more or sign up, contact parent coaches Matt Shors at or 612-401-7778 or Joanne Kaufman at or 612-920-3370. Thanks to the PTA’s generosity, participation in MATHCOUNTS is free!
