Along with this letter you will find a packet of important kindergarten information.  In it contains all of the necessary information that you will need to register your child for Kindergarten for the 2017-18 school year.

NEW THIS YEAR- There will not be a Kindergarten registration night.  Instead, we ask that you complete the necessary paperwork and return it to the school the week of May 15th.  The absolute deadline for returning the paper work is May 31st; after that date your child’s spot at Lower may be given to someone on the wait list.

Once your child’s placement has been confirmed and they have been placed in a classroom with a teacher you will be notified via US mail and then invited to a few events.

●     The PTA will invite you to a picnic (just for kindergarten families) in early August to meet other families and to learn about the PTA opportunities.

●     The school will host an ice cream social/open house the week before school starts which is a chance to meet the teacher and check out the classroom.

●     NEW THIS YEAR- we will invite you to a Kindergarten curriculum night in early September (separate from the other grade levels) where you will hear from your child’s teacher about what your child will be learning throughout the school year.

On behalf of the staff at Lake Harriet Community School, I want to welcome you to the Lower campus.  I also want to assure you that together we will work to make sure your child has a meaningful and positive school experience.
