Congratulations to the 2012-2013 Lake Harriet Student Council! They raised $1110.00 for schools in Asemkow, Ghana as part of the We Day - Free the Children program. This attracted the attention of Club Penguin (the online social game for kids). Club Penguin has contributed a $1000.00 matching gift to Asemkow! The student council also raised $200.00 for Beds, Blankets and Books, a program sponsored by the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers to provide needed supplies to homeless families in Minneapolis.
