LHCS Site Council is Looking for New Members

note
The Lake Harriet Community School Site Council is the school’s site leadership team. As the advisory and planning body for LHCS it is a forum for staff and parents to provide direction to the administration. The purpose of the Site Council is to examine existing or proposed policies and procedures and make recommendations to ensure sustained student achievement. It is a great way to learn about and influence how our school functions and to hear insight and perspectives from staff and parents at both campuses. It is also a great opportunity to stay informed about what is happening at a district level with MPS.

The Site Council’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to; long range planning, monitoring the school budget, influencing supplemental academic and equity programs at the school and advocating on behalf of LHCS within the greater school district. Our current Site Council has three subcommittees; Academic, Equity and Planning and Advocacy.

Site Council members serve a two year term (with an option to extend to a third year), with parent membership balanced to best represent all students. Commitment is one Site Council meeting a month, with additional as needed meetings for subcommittees.

If you have questions regarding Site Council or the application process, please email current Site Council Parent Co-Chair Kate Kerfoot

Applications are due May 15th and can be found at https://lakeharriet.mpls.k12.mn.us/online_application
