Our PTA Membership Chair caught up with Paige Seegers, new 3rd grade teacher at Lower Campus, to welcome her to LHCS.
How you would like students to address you?
Students can call me Ms. Seegers
Please share a little about yourself:
I am from Sartell, MN (a small-ish town outside of St. Cloud, MN), and born and raised in MN. I went to the University of MN-Twin Cities to get my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education. I have two younger sisters, one is still in high school and one goes to Mankato State studying social work. I have a black lab Lola who is far more active than I am, which is a good thing! My students know that I looooove pizza.
What do you love about teaching?
The thing I love most about teaching is the connections I make with my students; I love learning about their lives, talking with them, and learning alongside them. I cherish moments where I can tell something “clicks” for a student. I also love to practice mindfulness with my students, which helps to bring calmness to not only their lives, but to mine as well!
Do you have any hobbies or special interests outside of the classroom?
Outside of the classroom, I love to read books. Some of my favorite genres are science fiction and the social sciences. I also enjoy spending time outdoors—hiking and exploring the beautiful nature our state offers to us. One of my favorite places to hike around in Minnesota is Tettegouche State Park on the North Shore.
