workshop
In partnership with the Fulton Neighborhood Association, the Lake Harriet Community School Site Council would like to challenge your thinking, encourage community conversation and develop a shared understanding of race and equity issues in Minneapolis.

Please join us on March 24 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm for a virtual workshop on Microaggressions and Bias 101 facilitated by the YWCA Racial Justice and Public Policy Team.

What does it mean to have bias? Are biases good or bad? Where does bias come from? This workshop helps individuals understand how and why biases form. We then talk about the impact biases have on our decision-making and how to respond to microaggressions that may occur in our everyday lives.

Objectives:
  • Define microaggressions and cognitive bias
  • Recognize how racial microaggressions show up in daily interactions
  • Learn ways to become more aware of one’s own biases
