Our PTA Membership Chair caught up with Mary Jackson, our new School Secretary at Lower Campus, to welcome her to LHCS.

Mary, welcome to LHCS! We are happy you are here!

How you would like students to address you?
Ms. Mary.

What is your job title and brief description of your position?
School Secretary/Grandma.

Where is your previous employment?
I worked at Justice Page Middle School for four years.

Is there any personal info you would like to share?
I have two children. My son is 34 years old and my daughter is 37 years old. I also have two grandchildren ages 13 and almost 16. I grew up in South Minneapolis, right across the street from Lake Harriet and the Rose Gardens. I grew up in a family with nine children! I like to knit and cook. I am getting a Cavalier King Charles puppy in November and I am very excited about that.

What do you love about working in a school?
I love, love, love the kids. I also love working with teachers - their dedication and commitment to the students is very inspiring to me. Before working at Justice Page Middle School I had worked for non-profits and corporate America and if I had to do it over again I would have started working at a school years ago.

Is there anything else we should know about you?
I worked with Principal Angie Ness at Justice Page Middle School and I am so happy to have moved here to Lake Harriet Lower to work with her again. I am VERY anxious to have the kids back in school so I can meet them.
