In order to create a high-quality experience for middle school orchestra, we will be holding Orchestra for grades 6-8 before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 - 9:20.  The reason for this change is to create a larger string orchestra by combining grades 6-8.  Unfortunately it is not possible to do that during the school day without pulling students from other classes.  The string instruments were combined with band instruments for the last two years which was better than losing strings, however, band instruments are significantly louder and play in different keys than string instruments.  With this new model the strings will be able to play the correct music in the correct keys.  There will be opportunities for students to sign up for orchestra during the first few weeks of school.
