Volunteer to support Lake Harriet debaters!

What if there was an after school activity for middle school students that encouraged self-confidence, improved academic performance, and boosted high school readiness while providing students with a platform to speak their minds? At the Minnesota Urban Debate League (MNUDL), we think debate does all of these things, but we need your help to support the debate program at Lake Harriet. Volunteer as a debate judge and help Lake Harriet students maximize their potential. Middle school debate judges watch debate rounds and evaluate teams based on logic, effective argumentation, and speaking skills. They pick the winner and provide important feedback that helps our debaters improve their skills and grow in the activity. No prior experience is necessary to participate. It’s a flexible volunteer opportunity to support youth education, civic engagement, and empowerment. The next tournament that Lake Harriet students are attending is on February 23rd, and details are listed below.
